Privacy Policy

Your privacy - and your child's - matters to us. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and where it is stored.

Last updated: 5 July 2026

1. Who we are

High Achievers Hub(“we”, “us”) - the trading name of HIGH ACHIEVERS HUB (registration no. 2026/534726/07) - operates a supportive hub for independent homeschool learners in Schoemansville, Hartbeespoort. We are the responsible party for the personal information described in this policy under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).

Questions or requests about your data can be sent to our Information Officer at info@highachievershub.co.za.

2. What we collect

  • Parent/guardian details: name, email, phone number.
  • Learner details: name, grade, and - where you choose to share it - date of birth and any support or learning needs relevant to guiding your child.
  • Enrolment & payment records: plan selection, enrolment status, and payment history.
  • Enquiries: anything you send us via our contact form or by email.

We practise data minimisation - we only ask for what we genuinely need to provide our service.

3. Why we collect it

To respond to your enquiries, manage enrolment, guide and support your learner, process fees, and communicate with you about the hub. We do not sell your personal information, ever.

4. Where your data lives

Your information is stored on secure, enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt, Germany). We use this region because South Africa is not currently offered by our infrastructure providers, and the EU provides both excellent performance for South African users and a very high standard of data protection.

This means some of your personal information is processed outside South Africa. POPIA permits this because the European Union’s data-protection regime (GDPR) offers a level of protection that is comparable to, and in many respects exceeds, POPIA’s requirements. Where we rely on trusted service providers, they are contractually bound to protect your information.

In short: your data is held to European privacy standards, which meet or exceed South African law.

5. Service providers we use

We share the minimum necessary data with vetted providers:

  • Supabase- secure database & login (hosted in the EU).
  • Vercel - website hosting.
  • Resend - sending enquiry notification emails.
  • Payment gateway- to process fees securely. Card details are entered on the gateway’s own PCI-compliant checkout and never reach or are stored on our systems.

6. Children's information

We take special care with learners’ information. Personal information about a child is provided and consented to by a parent or legal guardian, and is accessible only to that family and authorised hub administrators - protected by strict, database-level access controls.

7. How we protect your data

Access is controlled at the database level so families can only ever see their own information. All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), secrets are kept off the browser, and administrator access is limited and deliberate.

8. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide our service and to meet legal or accounting obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.

9. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct or update it;
  • ask us to delete it (subject to legal retention rules);
  • object to certain processing;
  • lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.

To exercise any of these, email info@highachievershub.co.za.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above reflects the latest version.

This policy is provided for transparency and is not legal advice. We recommend parents review it in full; for any concerns, please contact our Information Officer.
